Fire Note Says: Lush indie pop to die for!
Album Review:
If you are looking for a change of pace then look no farther than Great Northern. They play a very soft and enchanting indie rock that just sounds great to the ears. Great Northern is a new 2 guy, 2 girl four piece from LA that will not only leave you impressed after one spin but will easily find its way back into your player for another round. Trading Twilight For Daylight is the bands debut and it is filled of layered melodies that gives the album great transitions and offers up textures that are hard not to like. The album was produced by Mathias Scheenberger (Joseph Arthur, Queens Of The Stone Age) which given the lush arrangements found on a Joseph Arthur album makes this the perfect selection and works in the bands favor because he truly understands their sound. Great Northern will leave a memorable impact on you if given the chance and Trading Twilight For Daylight represents a collection of songs that make a nice soundtrack for everyday life.
