Fire Drill Review:
It seems that the number of UK bands getting launched to US listeners has really slowed down this year but the new upbeat third album from the Mystery Jets has already received some positive press from trusty British outlets, so Rough Trade is going to give them a shot. The group has everything going for them with legendary producer Chris Thomas (Pulp, John Cale, Sex Pistols) behind the boards and a well-rounded album that has catchy rock dance tracks, ballads that make you sway and plenty of memorable melodies. Lyrically the album is slightly redundant and probably is its biggest issue holding it back. Serotonin definitely shows the band moving forward and if you are into the UK scene, this record is fresh and the Mystery Jets are a band that are on the verge of breaking out and worth checking in on.
