The New Rochelles: It's New!

The New Rochelles
It's New!
Bright & Barrow Records [2011]

Fire Note Says: The New Rochelles style of pop-punk will make you think it is 1974 again!

Album Review:
I love it when I go through the stacks of record submissions we receive and stumble onto an album that I completely dig. The debut record from Long Beach, NY's Ramones-core pop punks, The New Rochelles, was that record and it is an absolute blast of whip-smart, sharp-tongued and musical tight kick ass punk rock. It's New! gives you twelve tracks in just over 14 minutes but in that short amount of time, Ronnie, Ricky and Rookie Rochelle deliver a memorable pop-punk lesson in what this genre has always been about, which is - second verse is same as the first. It really is that simple because The New Rochelles pull it off flawlessly as they cover quitting giving them the stinkeye in 57 seconds, Tina's toothache in a minute and watching out for whatever a Skunkape is at 1:39. If you are a fan of the Ramones, any of the mid-nineties Lookout! Records catalog or have been looking for the second coming of great pop-punk, then look no further because The New Rochelles deliver and I guarantee you won't put this album down!

Key Tracks: "Did Something Bad", "Quit Givin' Me The Stinkeye", "Tina's Got A Toothache"
